Novello '2010' Extra Virgin Olive Oil - 1 lt Review

This oil is fantastic. It is unfiltered, and while it may look a bit odd when you first see it (especially if you are used to crystal-clear oils), once you taste it, you won't want anything else. The oil, with its little bits of olive, has a very fresh aroma. Those bits also give the oil a texture that is more palatable than common oils. I received a bottle of this oil for Christmas and have used it daily since. The thing is, I haven't used it for cooking - just for dressing, topping, and dipping. I have resisted the urge to just take a shot of the stuff. I would think that one could cook with it in much the same way that one cooks with butter - I'd be worried about the bits burning over too high a heat. But honestly, it has been so good in its raw form, I've not seen the need to use it in the pan (we all have other oil for that). A few things - don't put it in the fridge - it will set up on you until it warms up again, and frankly, who wants to wait. Second, if you order a bottle, it may not look like the photo here because the oil has a 'vintage' of sorts (note the 2010 in the name) and it seems the manufacturer changes the labels from time to time. br /br /This oil may seem pricey, but for those that enjoy good olive oil, I strongly recommend it. Spending this much on liquor isn't a big deal to most people, and this stuff is at least good for you.

The flavour of "Novello" will remind you of healthy green olives. Its fruity aroma, with a slightly spicy aftertaste, will be noticeable until the end of June. Afterwards, the product will tend to soften, becoming sweeter and more harmonic. This oil is pressed from Ogliaroal, Bianolilla and Cerasuola olives grown in West central Sicily. It is harvested by hand and milled within 12 hours from the harvest. This oil is unfiltered. Great for all kinds of rustic dishes, bruschetta and bean soups.

Tequila Lime Vinegar

Tequila Lime Vinegar Review

the flavor of this vinegar is fantastic. It's sharp and sweet and tangy and very very delicious. I've poured it on salads, used it in marinades, sipped it out of a teaspoon, sprinkled it on rice...really, it's just wonderful. I don't know about Amazon's price, I bought it on clearance at T J Maxx. However, the large bottle of this is a GREAT price and I'm going to order it when I run out of this. I also bought their cherry vinegar, which I didn't like nearly as well.

Very limey and a tad sweet. Makes for a good marinade. Its my least favorite of the vinegars from this company but still worth having in the kitchen for the marinade I suggested.

This olive oil is by far the best I've ever tasted. It's a bit cstly like most really good olive oils are but this is so worth the money! You will not be disappointed. The flavor is amazing, I do not use it to cook with, it's too good for the, it's great on bread or in salad. I promise if you like olive oil you will LOVE this one.

Planeta - Italian Extra Virgin Olive Oil Feature

  • Remarkable and scarce olive oil
  • Amazing flavor - delicate and full
  • Elegant packaging makes this an unforgettable gift!
  • Imported from Italy
  • Net Weight: 500ml
Planeta extra virgin olive oil comes from two different family-owned olive groves. The first is the centuries-old grove named Ulmo, which surrounds the family's winery in Sambuca di Sicilia. The other is a younger grove called Capparrina and is situated on fertile land by the sea near Menfi, in the province of Agrigento. Both groves grow three varieties of olive: Cerasuola, Biancolilla and Nocellara de Belice. The latter represents approximately 60% of total production and is typical of the area. It is recognized for its large-sized fruit and produces an oil with a very distinctive flavor. The other two varieties, Cerasuola and Biancolilla, have a much more delicate flavor. The oil has a wonderful green color and a fresh bouquet of herbs, citrus fruit, artichokes and tomatoes. It has a delicate, full rather than spicy flavor. Get this remarkable and scarce, small production olive oil while it lasts! Net Weight: 500ml.
